This is Edition #52 of Knowhere. There has been a publication for every week of 2021.
Publishing this newsletter has been quite the journey. Like many creators, I’ve grappled with questions like “how to find the balance between content that is authentic to you and content that is successful with your audience?”, “how to keep the discipline and hold yourself accountable to publish every single week?“ and “Am I even qualified to write about this? Why should anyone even listen to me?”
I’ve learnt much about what it takes to bring a product to market and how much effort it takes to output anything meaningful individually.
The experience of writing Knowhere this past year has been incredibly enriching albeit oftentimes an arduous activity.
Around this time last year, Knowhere was born out of a desire to share techniques that I’d learned that had helped me navigate the labyrinth of life. Moreover, I really like having an opportunity to communicate about literally anything; and COVID really destroyed the social arm of our respective yearning octopi, so in this community I found respite. The responses I’ve gotten from you, the readers, have shown me first hand that our problems are always human problems. We share them broadly. And as such, our solutions can be broadly learnt too. We just need to start talking about them. More people need to own their narratives and what they can offer the world. More people like you and me.
Thank you for your readership over the course of this year. It has been a genuine pleasure writing for you.
The journey to Knowhere will continue in the new year… just.. differently. At the start of 2021, I made a promise to myself to publish an edition of Knowhere for each week of the year. That’s not a promise I’ll be renewing in the new year.
Writing each week can sometimes become prescriptive and demotivating. I’m not always able to publish a piece to the standard that I want to. So in 2022, Ill be writing less frequently, on an unscheduled basis. Expect to see an edition every couple of weeks or so.
I have been thinking of continuing to create content, but in a more palatable format - perhaps in podcast or video form. If you’d like to weigh in on that or have any other thoughts, comments or suggestions, please take 1-2 minutes to fill in a lil g.form.

I realized I’ve never mentioned this before, but I thought it worth pointing out that every photograph on Knowhere has been sourced from Unsplash.com - a website of free-to-use images powered by creators everywhere. I support Unsplash because I believe in their vision and appreciate their work in supporting the modern amateur photographer. Some of the images I’ve used here have been my very own, like today’s shot of Kirstenbosch, Cape Town. You can check out my full photography repository here.
Once again, thank you for reading!
